Curriculum Structure

The program’s curriculum consists of the following:

Master’s program:

  • One compulsory course of general content in Mathematics or Statistics;
  • Two compulsory courses of specific content on each concentration area (Ceramics, Polymers and Metals);
  • Elective courses.

Master’s students should take at least 24 credits in order to complete their degree. The number of credits for the master’s thesis is 6.

Doctoral program:

  • Two compulsory courses of general content in Mathematics or Statistics;
  • Two compulsory subjects of specific content on each concentration area (Ceramics, Polymers and Metals);
  • Elective courses.

Doctoral students must complete at least 48 credits for completion of their degree. The number of credits for the doctoral dissertation is 12.

The elective courses that complement the number of credits for the Master’s or Doctoral Degree should be chosen among the courses offered by PGMAT.

Courses from other Graduate Programs may be validated to integrate the curriculum. However, they should be approved by the Selection and Scholarship Committee and the Program’s Council.
